The YCN Student Award is a competition that allows students from across the country to enter with a chance of getting exposure to many high profile companies. The competition is based around a series of live briefs from lots of companies ranging from Gap to Orchard Pig. This year I entered the awards within a group, we selected the Fedrigoni brief which was ‘Creatively use paper to promote our new retail space: The Imaginative Papers Shop.’
Our concept was having a collection of paper sculptures that would fit as a hat. We made posters, flyers, social media campaign and animations for the marketing campaign. I was the producer and animator for the project, my main job was to create the four animations for the project. See below:
We did not win any commendations from the awards and had to compete against mostly graphic designers and other ‘arty’ practitioners. I still feel we had a strong project overall and produced a comprehensive marketing campaign.
